Day 3

This is the third day I'm conducting this experiment. My friends kept telling me to come to eat Asian food with them, but thankfully I am still standing strong. So today I had fruit loops again for breakfast because I cannot stop eating it. For lunch, I went to this famous burger joint, which was originated from northern Virginia, called Five Guys. It just recently opened in Sunnyvale area and it seems to be one of the favorite spot for people on this area to have lunch. The name Five Guys comes from its original owner, who are Jennie and Jerry Murrell, and also their four sons. The five guys running the business was Jerry and all the sons. It mainly serves burgers, hot dogs, and fries. The burgers use 80% fat free patties and could go with 13 different toppings, including pickles, tomatoes, mayonnaise, sauteed mushroom, grilled onions, and many more. The fries are cooked with peanut oil, which has no trans fatty acids and you can have it in either Five Guys style or Cajun style. I ordered the bacon cheese burger with mayonnaise, sauteed mushroom, ketchup, grilled onions, tomatoes, lettuce, and I also ordered Cajun style fries.

The burger tasted really good. I was happy with my lunch until I saw a sign that said that the burger I was eating carried around 900 calories. Not to mention the fries and the root beer I was having.  American food has been known for its high calories which lead to high rate of obesity among its citizen. That is why for dinner, I bought a salad at school to overcome my guilt.
